Software Engineer (Python) – DevOps / CI/CD
Location: Remote (Europe-based) Employment Type: Full-Time Working Hours: 10:00–18:00 CET, with intentional overlap into U.S. morning hours (approx. U.S. East Coast) for collaboration

This role is the first of a growing European team, supporting client work where accuracy, accountability, and clean engineering practices matter as much as speed.
About the Role
We are hiring a Python-first Software Engineer to build and maintain the backend systems at the core of our client delivery. Python is the primary focus of this role (roughly 80% of the work); Azure DevOps and CI/CD form the remaining focus, supporting how that code is tested, deployed, and kept reliable.
Much of our client work sits in regulated environments, so we place a high value on engineers who are comfortable working with care, structure, and documentation, and who understand why controls and traceability exist. Experience in a regulated industry, and pharmaceutical / life-sciences work in particular, is a strong differentiator.
You will work directly with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, contributing across the full development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Development (Primary Focus)
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs in Python
- Develop business-critical application logic and ensure systems are reliable and maintainable
- Write clean, well-documented, production-grade code
Deployment, CI/CD & Azure DevOps (Supporting Focus)
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
- Support deployment workflows and system reliability
- Contribute to code reviews and engineering standards
Collaboration & Delivery
- Engage directly with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements
- Communicate clearly in English with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
- 5–9 years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in Python for backend development
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Proven track record delivering production-grade applications
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Strong written and verbal English communication
- Experience working directly with stakeholders or clients
- Experience working in a regulated environment (strongly preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- Pharmaceutical / life-sciences domain experience, including validated GxP systems and computer system validation (CSV)
- Containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with system integrations and data workflows
- Familiarity with frameworks such as Flask or Dash, or frontend technologies
- Additional cloud experience within Azure
