Research Scientist – Dairy Digestion

Ausnutria B.V. is looking for a passionate Research Scientist (Senior) to contribute to our ambitious growth plans within the global (infant) nutrition arena.
In this function, you will be part of the Ausnutria B.V. Research & Development department. You will be working closely together with internal colleagues in R&D, Medical Marketing and New Product Development. Additionally, you will collaborate with external partners at universities, research organizations and ingredient providers. You will actively contribute to broadening the organization’s scientific understanding of (infant) nutrition and enabling the realization of strategic objectives.
You will have a PhD degree with a scientific track record in biomedical or nutritional sciences, preferably in the field of infant nutrition, digestion, metabolism and/or microbiology, with at least 5 years of working experience in an industrial environment (food or pharma).
Next to the above, you
Actively contribute to successful execution of the R&D Nutrition strategy and program, focused on the characterization and understanding of the functional benefits of dairy ingredients and products by applying your insights, knowledge and (dairy based infant) nutrition, digestion, metabolism and / or gut health (microbiome) expertise;
Identify and anticipate upon new developments and trends, create valuable opportunities and concepts. Initiate research projects and programs to enhance knowledge on safety profile and efficacy of dairy and dairy-derived ingredients on gastrointestinal health.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (R&D, Medical Marketing, Operations). Develop and maintain a network of industry contacts, scientific professionals and key opinion leaders, collaborate with universities and research institutes (contract researchers) in projects and actively participate to relevant industry and scientific events.
Build and maintain state-of-the-art level of knowledge in the requested field of expertise by networking within the scientific community, actively participating in scientific conferences and publishing in peer reviewed scientific papers. Ensure accessibility of knowledge to others, as well as its implementation in projects.
